I asked a few weeks ago about graphite for back pain. I play TS3’s with DG 120 S300 +0.5″. Thinking of moving to the Recoil 95 F4 since I play Proforce V2 in Driver, 3W, 2H, 4H and love the UST recoil feel. Being about 20-25gr lighter, I’m thinking that’ll be about 2.5-3 swing weight points lighter all things being equal. So, that’s adding 5-6gr back to the head OR adding another 0.5″ to the length to stand a little more upright and take stress off my low back anyway. How does that math check out?
I have some of those old XPC 2000 irons I played back in high school with some Aldila ProLaunch Red stiffs playing same length as my DG 120 S300’s. But the heads are “graphite weighted”. But those shafts are 75 grams I think. I don’t know if that would be a good analog to what I’m trying to setup with my TS3’s.
What about wedges? Should I bump up to 110’s or 125’s? I play PX 6.5 or KBS 610 125’s in steel. And if I add head weight with tip weights, will that change flex where I should hard step or go up to F5’s?
