Good morning, I have a question on the new STi2 irons. Why is there a Silica Gel insert in the 4 thru 7 irons but not throughout the entire set?

Good morning, I have a question on the new STi2 irons. Why is there a Silica Gel insert in the 4 thru 7 irons but not throughout the entire set?

The Silica Gel is a great material for helping reduce vibration. Lower lofted irons will gain more from it than higher lofted irons. On higher lofted clubs the strike is more of a glancing blow than a direct blow at impact and thus there is less vibration that can occur in the higher the lofts. We could have put it in the higher lofted irons as well, but didn’t really see the need, based on our testing. Even the lower lofted irons felt great without it, but we liked the idea and felt that any additional positive affect it could have on reducing low frequency vibrations was worth adding it to the lower lofted irons.
