In comparing the TS3 to other irons, would you say that they are players distance irons, players cavity back irons, Game improvement, or what?
If you look at the MPF data base you can see they fall in the Super Game Improvement category. That simply tells you they are very stable and playable (forgiving). As far style category, they could be described as a Players Progressive Cavity or a Players Distance irons. 28 deg. #6 iron vs the TS4 blade with 29.5 degrees, so they are a little stronger than the TS4 Players Blade. There are some distance irons out there that are really strong and would not call most those “Players” designs. Example would be our KE4 MAX. It has a 26 degree #6 iron and would be considered an Ultra Game Improvement Distance Iron. It’s shape and design would not be considered a “Players” iron by most. TS3’s are a Players design. A lot of really good players play it. Let’s call it a Players Progressive Cavity Distance Iron. That should about cover it. All kidding aside, a specific category is sometimes difficult to pin on any particular iron.

I recently built a set of TS3 irons, 5-G with TT DG 105 R shaft. I also play Srixon ZX7 irons with Nippon 105 R shaft. Both sets are adjusted to identical loft/lie (a tad on the weak side).
TS3 absolutely holds its own with the Srixon IMO.
