How much more do I have to tip trim a M890 A flex iron shaft for it to play closer to a R flex?
If its a wood shaft, the trim calls for o tip trim for a driver, 1″ for a #3 wood, 2″ for a #5 wood. If you want the A flex to play more like an R flex, you could trim 1″ more from the tip, so 1″ for the driver, 2″ for the #3 wood, etc. Do not trim more than 3″ from the tip on the wood shaft.
If it’s an iron shaft, the trim instructions call for 0 tip trim on a #3 iron, 1/2″ tip trim on a 4 iron and 1/2″ increments to the wedge (3 1/2″ tip trim on the wedge). You could trim up to 1″ more to get closer to the R. 1/2″ more might get you a little more, but not a full flex more.
