I am going to build new graphite irons and the trim code is IR 37.  I am wondering if I tip at 1/4 or 1/2 inch longer or shorter than instructed how much does it change the flex.  The reason I am asking is that not all graphites build out the way expected and I am fussy about getting the flex as close to what I want as I can.  I recently purchased A flex and they built out to a weak L flex.  Thanks for helping!  Alan

sounds like you have a freq/cpm meter since you were able to tell your previous build was a weak L flex (are you using a particular chart?).
If you do have a meter, I would suggest checking a shaft untrimmed, then cut off a 1/4″ or a 1/2″and recheck. Should give you the numbers you’re looking for.
If you don’t have a meter, ….Ball park, from my experience (and experiments) if you tip trim 1/2″ plus/minus, it will move the freq about 3cpm (approx 1/3 flex), this will vary among shafts.
