Jim or Britt,
The 2 gram Torx screw weights are easy to strip, I imagine because they are made of aluminum so they can weight just 2 grams. What is the recommended way to remove it once it is completely stripped?
Also, are they any “blanks” perhaps made of plastic that weigh even less that are less likely to be stripped?
Thanks for your help!
Michael
Right now it’s not an issue and it will probably never be an issue. It was in an M890 build when I needed to change out the screw weight for the lightest possible one. It’s all set with the right swingweight, etc. but the day may come when I’ll need to replace it.
Drilling it out was my main thought, too. I may experiment in my shop with filling the space with something like epoxy that will harden into a shape I can grab with a tool so I can remove it without drilling it out. If I get to that project, I’ll report on how it worked.
Thank you, Britt and Statechamp!
