Good afternoon,
What line on the trim chart is used for True Temper S300 wood shafts (.335)?
Thanks

Note that S300 only indicates that it’s a “stiff” shaft, not the model of the shaft. Not a lot of folks play steel in their woods these days.
The below is a response that Britt gave earlier this summer.

I apologize for the delay in responding. What I have found is that on .335 tip steel woods, True Temper stated that the tip should be trimmed 1/2″ on bore thru woods, then in 1/2″ increments for each successive wood (#2 wood would 1″, #3 wood would be 1.5″ and so on). If it’s not a bore thru head, then you would trim nothing from the tip for the driver, and then in 1/2″ increments. That was on the Dynamic Gold .335 woods from 1990. Generally TT would have used the same trimming instructions on all the .335 tip steel wood shafts.
Note that S300 only indicates that the shaft is “stiff”. It’s name or model would be Dynamic Gold or Command or something of the sort. Not a lot of folks play Steel in their drivers/fwy woods.

If this is a Dynamic Gold S300 you would follow trim code W2 if you are installing the shaft into a bore through. If you are installing the shaft into a blind bore you would add 1/2″ to what it says on line W2. If you are installing into a standard bore you would add 1 1/2″ to what is says on line W2. Most of today’s drivers and fairway wood are closer to a standard bore. Britt’s answer is actually incorrect in that if you are starting with a bore through driver the tip trimming would always be 0″. The shaft was made to be it’s listed flex in a bore through.
Thanks Jim.
