Anyone using the TS1-IM 3 iron as a driving iron? Want to play around with creating a driving iron. I can’t stand some other driving irons that look like thick mallets.

Currently playing TE forged and going to build TS4s, but may want to rotate between a 5 wood and 3 iron.

Open to suggestions if someone has built driving irons.

I have the TS1-IM #3 with a Recoil Dart 105 shaft that I use as a ‘driving’ iron. I have it long (for me) @39.25”
It’s a great crutch off the tee for short/tight holes. I’ve also really enjoyed it, choked down, for long par 5 lay-ups or shots that require a low runner (some may say punch out, ha).

I play TE+ 5-6…TS4 7-G. Play the KE4 pro 7w. I find that the 3 iron fits in nicely for me as it gives me options for a lot of different shots off the tee/in trouble/punchy running lay-ups/etc.

If you don’t like the FDI look, then the TS1-IM is as good as any to try. It’s really just a long iron, but you can use it for a driving iron. The FDI and driving irons like it are usually designed to be a little more forgiving and have a little lower cg. I use the #3, and #4 FDI’s with my TS4 5 thru PW set.
