Britt, I hope my barrage of questions lately isn’t taking advantage of your good nature/accessibility. If it is, feel free not to answer.
The four iron in my TS3 set came in with a much lighter swingweight than the other clubs. So I placed a heavy lead tape strip in the cutout part of the cavity and a lighter one toward the toe, which made it more or less match the others (except for the gap wedge, which is heavier.) I’m not writing to complain. The problem is that unlike all the other clubs, including the 5, the 4 simply doesn’t want to go up. It’s like I’m hitting a heavy metal-shafted 3 iron as far as the trajectory goes. There shouldn’t be such a huge difference in height from the five iron, right?
So, finally, here’s my question. Did my lead tape solution affect the ball flight? Should I be adjusting the SW with the tape in another location?
No worries. It’s hard to tell how much of this is just in my head. The main thing I wanted to know is whether the lead tape is screwing things up and you’ve really my mind about that. Thanks again for all your help.
