Hi, few quick questions. I am a returning golfer looking to order some TS3s. I went to a fitting and the recommended shaft was a project x LZ 5.5 115g. I ordered a demo club with it, and I like it quite a bit. Now that I am looking to order the full set I am second guessing whether 51 bucks a shaft is worth it for a relatively beginner golfer. I know that no one will tell me how to spend my money, but looking for opinions on whether I should just go with the TT Score option as its near the same weight. Worst case I could re-shaft it later?

Second question, with the gap wedge being 48 degrees. My initial thought was to just get a 54 degree wedge to match, opting out of an lob wedge for now. Which wedge would likely work for me out of maltby offerings. Should it be the same shaft?

I think the Score LT would be a nice lower priced option. It was a stock steel build for one of the major OEM’s for years under another name, and when they stopped using it True Temper let us take it as a proprietary combination flex option. We recommend it a lot as an underpriced, great performing steel option. There are other options and I am a fan of the Nippon product as well. Less than the PX, but definitely more than the Score, but has a lot of weight and flex options.

As far as the wedges, the Gap Wedge at 48 is needed, of course. Personally I play a 48, then a 52 and a 56. I do not use a 60. Simply don’t need it. I can hit all the shots needed with the 56. i prefer not to have more than a 4 or 5 degree gap in my wedges. You could go with just the 54 if you just wanted one wedge, but I think it reduces your versatility in the short game. Consider adding a 52 then the 56, but it’s really personal choice and what you think gives you the distance gaps yo need and the versatility around the greens.

As far as which model, I like the Maltby Max Milled wedges. You could do the 52 in the 0.90 sole and the 56 in the 1.05 sole, but really the sole width is dependent on the turf conditions you play and your attack angle. We do have a lot more options in our new DRT wedges, but not all are in stock yet. You might take a look there an read about them before making a choice.

Thanks for the insight. I did a little more research and I think the score shafts would play pretty similarly to my current gamers. Which are callaway x-22 uniflex shafts. Given that, ill be able to make a decision. thanks
The Memphis 10 and the Uniflex shaft that Callaway used was, I believe, the Score shaft. I will double check with True Temper on that, but pretty sure the were the same shaft. So it makes sense you found them similar.
