Have you experimented with different Grinds on the TS4? I’m fascinated with the Miura KM700 toe and heel shape. Is it possible for a person to replicate?

I worked on the TS4 for almost 2 years to get the look and “grind” that I feel (and know) represents the best grind and shape for a true players blade profile that allows for the highest playability and stability possible. Won’t say it’s perfect, but damn close (of course that is my biased opinion). Still thinking on how to improve the next generation, if that is even possible.
As far as the Miura, historically, when I have had the opportunity to measure the mass and dimensional characteristics of their models, the playability has not been good, the way we determine playability. They are beautiful clubs, no doubt, but blade lengths are short, hosels are long, soles are narrow…all of which does not lead to a stable, playable design. That’s what the numbers tell us, that is not just my opinion. Full disclosure I have not had the opportunity to measure the KM 700 or any of their models in a long time, but based on the images I see I would be surprised if the playability has improved. As far as the grind on the KM700, because I can only look at pictures, I can’t really evaluate closely. The shape of the face seems OK, fairly traditional Japanese forged face shape. Looks like a fairly small blade. I don’t understand why you take a chunk of weight off the low toe area as that is a critical area for maintaining the stability of an iron. Also, does not look like it has much effective sole angle, but again I can’t really tell. As far as the heel, not sure what your referring to.
Probably un-fare to asses without actually having it in my hands, but that is what I see in the images on their website. Would welcome them, or someone, sending in their models for us to measure and include in our MPF database. I’ll stand by what we do and the measurable performance standards we design into every model we do. If you like the look of the Miura, you should give it a try and see if the playability and performance stacks up to the cosmetic appeal.
