Using GW grip tape and solvent but grips sticks halfway on does solvent go bad?
It’s the Golfworks solvent that requires that you slide the grip on as soon as you get it wet. The advantage is that you can use the club in 10 minutes. The Golfworks FP 142+ solvent does not set up as fast. As Britt says though, you need to use it generously in either case! By the way, many clubmakers prefer Brampton. Hope this helps! Michael
Solvent will not go bad for a long time. My experience with what you are experiencing is simply a case of not enough solvent. The inside of the grip needs to be coated with solvent, the grip tape should be drenched, then you need to work fast. In our schools, 99.9% of the time when students get the grip stuck half way on, they didn’t use enough solvent and they didn’t work fast enough.
