Hi there,
I’m ordering a KE4 TC Pro IST series fairway 7w head to replace my Ping G400 7w with HZRDUS Smoke red 5.5 60g shaft. For the most part, I like the HZRDUS, but wondering what other inexpensive shafts I could try out.. I’d want similar or higher trajectory, not lower.
I came upon the Pro Series DL shaft, and like the 60g weight range in the R flex, and the MPF factor is 3B3M, which should be higher launching..
Wondering how the Pro Series DL compares to the HZRDUS Smoke Red 5.5 in terms of flex/feel. If the Pro Series plays stiffer in the R flex, could I just tip trim a 1/2″ less than the recommended 1″ tip trim for the 7w to have it play/feel a little softer and add a little more launch?
Thanks for any suggestions on inexpensive fairway shaft options in that 60g range that have softer feel/are higher launching.
Tony
Thanks Britt!
Good to know about the Kinetixx.. I keep hearing good things about the Pro Series, so I think I’ll try the Pro Series DR shaft in R flex and leave the tip and butt a little long, choke up, and see how that feels in the fairway wood.. can always tip trim down a little to stiffen up if needed.
I just noticed I referenced the “Pro Series DL” shaft in my question too.. my bad. I meant the DR driver shaft.. the 60g R flex weight in the DR version works better in my weight progression than the A flex DR version or the fairway shaft version of the Pro Series.. for the price, seems worth a try.
