Is the balance point of a UST Recoil 95 or 110 in .355 lower than most graphite shafts? I was messing with some per the post I made a few weeks ago discussing swingweight for these and the ProLaunch Red iron shafts. Basically, I’m kind of wondering if my calculations are going to need to be re-done because of the balance point feeling lower. I think I had said the 95’s would be 2.5-3 points lighters versus Dynamic Gold 120 .355 so I would need to add 5-6gr to the head or 0.5″ to the shaft length.
I did some searching and the Recoil Prototypes were meant to have a lower balance point to make a steel transition easier or 1-for-1. But, wasn’t sure if that was the same for standard Recoil 95 and 110’s. I jammed a MAX Milled 50* head on a Recoil 110 wedge shaft (without epoxy) and it felt heavy. Like, slightly heavier than with a PX 6.5 wedge shaft. BUT that may be my perception and a reflection of the balance point being so much lower.
Here’s the post I made on 11/25: https://ralphmaltby.com/questions/question/steel-to-graphite-questions/
I’m very interested to see what you guys say. Thanks!
