Gentlemen, the info on the Golfworks site for the 2 KE4 Tour HDI hybrids does not include the vertical center of gravity data. Do you have that? I seem to remember that the heads are the same, only the decal is different so I’m thinking both have the same stats.

Also, if gapping between irons is 10 yards, what HDI loft and length would you use if your 4 iron is 21 or 22 degrees and you wanted to get no less than 10 yards more from the hybrid than the 4 iron, like building a 3 iron that is not available for the set? Let’s also assume that you’re using the matching Project X (taper tip) 3 iron shaft, same shaft as in the irons. Thanks! Michael

.806? Are you sure thats For the HDI, not the other hybrid black iron set? I asked this question in the first season that the HDI’s were released and I recall you answering that the HDI AVCOG was lower, at about .738″

The Actual Vertical cg for the 4 iron was .806″. You are correct that the only difference in the first version and the second was the medallion, so we do have a few #3’s remaining with the first medallion. On the build, you would either have to go with a similar loft to your #4 iron, but in a longer length. Also, you could go with a lighter shaft in the club. Example: I play the DBM with Project X 6.0 shafts. Built an HDI #3 Hybrid with a Steelfiber 90 and made it 1/2″ longer than the #3 iron in the set. Hit it longer than the set #3 for sure. Use it on tight courses, off the tee, and does not go as high as traditional hybrids. More of a Driving Iron. I can hit bullets with out of the fairway, for sure. If you are looking for just 10 yards, the length difference with the #3 and it’s loft might be all you need. Project X in the #3 HDI 1/2″ to 3/4″ longer than your 4 to get ten yards. You’ll have to experiment, of course, but that might be a place to start.

Thanks, Britt. Very helpful as always. Interesting that you have the Project X 6.0 in your DBM set. I’m looking to put the same shaft into the new STi OS because it has a higher CG and I want to flight down my irons. TTDGSL S300 (very low launching shaft as you know) in my TE Forged (very low CG) and I still hit them higher than I want. (I have a very late release as you may remember.) I’ve used the Project X before and liked them, already have a set of the shafts, so I’m thinking of putting the 3 iron shaft into a H3 but make it hybrid length. We’ll see how it turns out.
