I swing Ping GMax irons 2 degrees flat with Senior flex Ping CGS Distance shafts and have worn out my old (54 & 58 standard lie, wedge flex steel) wedges that I tended to pull. What shaft and flex would be a good match for the irons in 2 M+ wedges (1 mid sole and 1 wide). I’m hoping to go lighter in shaft as I’m slowing down. The UW/Gap is 50.5 degrees and 35.5 in length. I’m thinking of ordering a 54 and 58 at 35.25 and 35. Is this nuts? Do you have a better idea? Is a degree or two flatter a bad idea? Thank you.

If you have the CFS Steel Distance shafts in the irons the information I have is that they are around 105 grams. So, if you wanted to go with a similar weight in steel and in an A flex, the options are kind of limited. You could go with the FST 90 and trim for an A flex. Or, you can go with something like a Nippon N.S. Pro 8950GH in the A flex, which is 93 grams, and is a really good shaft. There are numerous R flex shafts you could choose and simply trim them less to give you more of the A flex. The TT XP 95 could be an option in the R flex (not offered in A flex) that you would trim less from the tip to achieve the A flex. As far as the M+ Series wedges, they are great wedges, in my biased option. I would not recommend bending more than 1 degree. The DBM finish is adds durability, but restricts the amount he heads can be bent to around 1 degree. Hope this helps.

Thank you. The iron shafts are graphite. I was hung up on trying to match them and wasn’t thinking about trimming a regular.
