There are various weights one can insert thru the top of the grip. How will this effect club playability? Is more better? Alternatively, one can add weights to the hosel port. How would the effect differ from grip weights?
Weighting of the golf club, whether weighting on the head end or the grip end, basically is about creating the feel a player prefers. Their are those who claim that counterbalancing (weighting on the grip end) can help with distance, control and accuracy. Weighting on the head end is more about creating the overall head feel throughout the set that allows the player to feel the head throughout the swing, providing better results. In our experience, results vary on the counterbalancing from player to player. Some see improvement, while others do not. We do feel that it is important to have a consistent swing weight in the set for the purpose of providing consistent feel throughout the set and consistent flex throughout the set. In the end, you may have to do a little experimenting to find the weighting and weight distribution that feels and works best for you.

Irv, I’m interested in experimenting a bit with counter balancing as well. I’m not sure what weights I’d start with but I think I’ll buy one of those secret grips and go from there.
