I have starting doing my own hobby club building.  I’m building a set of TaylorMade R9’s (9.5* Driver, 13* TS 3W, 17* 4W). I looking at Kuro Kage Silver 60 and Tensei AV Raw 60 shafts.  I own several clubs with these shaft and I hit them both well, I like the sledge hammer feel of the KKS.  All my current clubs are regular flex.  I’m tall with long arms and hit +1.5/2*up irons but standard length TM woods.  I hit the ball really high with all my clubs, I would like a lower ball flight on my woods.

My question is when using stiff shaft and not tip trimming for 3W it becomes reg+ and/or 1/8″ tip trimming on the 4W, what affect OTHER than flex does this have?  could it give me a lower ball flight?

I believe I read, and have heard, that the flex/bend point in ALL todays quality name brand shafts is within 2.5” (either direction) from the CENTER of the shafts TOTAL length! The vast majority of people think this point is far far closer and near the clubhead.
