Spent over an hour trying to remove a callaway wedge head. Why?

Not sure why your having difficulty. What exact model of wedge are you working with?

If its a steel shaft, try more heat if you haven’t already. A couple of minutes with a small torch and it should twist right off. If its an older club, sometimes removing them can be near impossible, it really just depends on what epoxy the previous builder used

I had a Wilson 2 iron that wouldn’t budge. I applied a lot of heat and finally got it off. Turns out the shaft was a .370 pinched to fit a .355 hosel. At the factory these are driven in by machine, not by hand.
I’m not familiar with Callaway wedges but I’m thinking the shaft is probably pinched.

If you can give me some details on the model and type of shaft, I can probably give you some guidance. Nothing is impossible. Never met one I couldn’t get out (in 40 years), one way or the other.

I have found that some clubs and epoxies simply require an inordinate amount of heat. I reshafted some Pings for a friend years ago and the amount of flame I had to apply was amazing. Eventually, with enough heat, the bond was broken. Fire up the flame.
