I was just wondering what the golf community would say to the question of playing the most forgiving irons available. I’m just back to the game after 22 yrs away a former single digit, last clubs I built were Pennick Firesteel. I will never be that 4 times a week range beater again but the swing is still solid. With the advances in technology why wouldn’t players play the most forgiving irons available? And it looks like the KE4max in the Malbty lineup. I would be so interested to hear from you all.
I was in the same boat. I played the KE4Max this year and will again next year as I continue to tinker with fine tuning weights and such. I have liked but never loved the feel. I was recently fitted for the TS3 and I love the feel. I will upgrade to them once I’ve figured out how to dial in my specs. Though they may be slightly less forgiving, their superior feel on center shots is worth the trade off. Palmer said golf is a game between the ears. I would add that it is also about the journey, not the destination, at least for me. Yes, I want to score well, but I also want to feel enough of those pured shots every round that keep me coming back for more.
