Can you solely use mpf (higher the better) to select irons for a high handicap woman golfer that has a sweeping, slow swing or does the iron have to be also classed as a womens iron that also has a high mpf?
You can use MPF solely to select irons. Generally, a designated “womens” club is distinguishable by mostly cosmetics. Sometimes the specifications, specifically lofts, might be tweaked a bit to be more suited for the slower, sweeping type of swing that catagorize many amateur women players. I am not sure that is a far categorization, but it is what it is. We have never fit by gender and believe that any club selection should be based on the the abilities, strengths, weaknesses, etc. of the player. Yes, we have had “womens” designated clubs in the past, but the specs were really designed around the general attributes of the majority of women golfers we see in the market. These same clubs were, and are, excellent for slower swinging, sweeping type players that are men as well. That is one reason we re-designate our line for these types of players more generic, and not specifically for women. That being said and to answer your question, any MPF iron with a high MPF can be considered. The KE4- S iron, the KE4-MP1 iron and the STi iron are all Super and Ultra Game Improvement irons I have fit women with and they all have worked well. The L-Tech iron is still our best selling and most used iron design for the type of player you described, but again, others could work as well.

Britt – as a follow up
Can either of the KE4- S iron, or the STi iron be fitted with LL flex shafts in the range of 45 – 55 grams and to the recommended lengths described by Ralph in his video on women’s clubs, e.g. 5 iron length 36 – 3/4″ to 37 – 1/4″?
How would one go about selecting the LL shaft and correct length. I see from the web site that assembly is available but I did not see the option to select shafts from the paks that were listed. I also saw/used the shaft selection tool but did it did not yield the expected results.
