I was always a fan of the original rifle shafts in 6.5 flex, especially the wood shaft. What more modern graphite shaft would be comparable, my thought was the Aldila NV but I don’t have experience with too many graphite shafts.

The original Rifle 6.5 shaft weighted 130 grams and was a mid/high bend point and firm tip. It was designed to create a low/mid trajectory. To match those playing characteristics in graphite shafts you will need to stay with shafts that weight in the 95 gram weight or heavier. Shafts like the Aerotech Steel Fiber 110CW (AT0017IE), Steel Fiber 95CW (AT0015IE), UST Recoil 95 (US0085) and the UST Recoil 110 (US0087) are graphite iron shafts that will match the playing characteristics of the original Rifle 6.5. 6.5 was considered the X flex.
