Is a 58 core grip on a 60 core shaft with 3 wraps of tape considered 1/32″ oversize? Thanks
No, a .580″ core size grip installed on a .600″ butt diameter shaft will give you a 3/64″ oversize grip which measures .945″. This is assuming your build up tape measures .010″ thick. The .580″ core size grip installed on the .600″ butt diameter shaft gives you a +1/64″ oversize grip which measures .915″. A 1/32″ oversize grip measures .930″ so with the .580″ core size you would need 1 wrap of .015″ thickness build up tape (GW1118) or 2 wraps of .010″ thickness build up tape (BU2) to get to .930″.
Thank you. That helps.
