Britt or Jim,
I just received an order of KBS Tour parallel shafts from Golfworks (R-flex, 4 thru 9, PW) and the 8-iron shaft is a bit on the heavy side at 112.7 grams versus spec at 110 grams, which actually puts it closer to the spec for R+ (115 grams). My issue is that the balance of the set came in about 2-grams under spec, so I have an 8-iron shaft that’s about 4.5 to 5-grams heavier than the rest of the set and I can feel the difference in a negative way. I can easily repurpose it for a wedge shaft (i.e., use an 8-iron shaft from the next stiffer flex), so no worries, but I’m wondering if you have any 8-iron shafts at 107.5 to 108 grams in your inventory. If so, I’ll just place an order and note this requirement in the comments.
You guys are awesome and I appreciate all the good information you put out here and the great service from Golfworks.
Thanks…
Britt, I misspoke in my original post, and you’re correct – I meant taper tip shafts (FS0018). I’m looking for an 8-iron shaft in regular flex where the blank weighs in at 108-grams plus or minus a bit either way. The heaviest shaft in the batch I received was 108.7 for the 6-iron and the lightest was at 107.5 for the 9-iron. I would ideally like the 8-iron to fall between these two weights. The blank I received weighed 112.7 before trimming and is noticeably different from the balance of the assembled set, which happen to be the classic TE Forged by the way. My all time favorite iron. Thanks again…
