Question for the builders here.

I’m reshafting a set of Maltby TS3 irons (6 through PW) from Modus 105 Stiff into Dynamic Gold 120 S300. Standard playing length. I’m also switching to a Golf Pride Tour Wrap Midsize grip, which is about 58 grams compared to a standard 50 gram Velvet.

I prefer a final swing weight around D2.5. My question is about the best way to have these built at Second Swing in Minneapolis.

Should the builder swing-weight the clubs using a lighter 50 gram grip as a placeholder and then install the midsize grip afterward? Or should they install the actual midsize grip and target D2.5 with that grip already on the club?

I don’t want the heavier grip to throw the final numbers off, but I also don’t want to overthink it if the right answer is simply “build to D2.5 with the real grip installed.”

For anyone who has done similar builds with DG 120 and midsize grips, what approach worked best?
