I am getting conflicting information.If I de-chrome irons–Do i have to use a seperate batch of acid to re-chrome or Can I simply change to polarity on the batch of acid I dechromed wit in order to rechrome the irons I stripped ?
Not an expert on this and it sounds like you may no more than we do. Acid is used to remove the old chrome. Adding new chrome involves the electro plating process where materials (copper, nickel, chrome or nickel, chrome) are attached to the club head through the electro plating process. While there are some acid elements in those materials, as I understand it, it is not the same type or amount of acid that is used to strip the old chrome. We have not done re-chroming for quite a few years and when we did we had a third party do it. We did not do it in house. They would strip the heads, send them back to us for clean up, then we would send them back for re-chroming.
