If I am between lofts for drivers, is it better to go with the lower loft and adjust up or go with the higher loft and adjust down?

I suppose this would open or close the face somewhat.

In my case, my swing flaw is a fade that can get me into trouble at times. Last year I chose a Callaway ST Max D at 9*. I adjusted it 2* (more loft) to 11*. My reasoning for this, was I knew it would close the face approximately 2* which might help to reduce my fade. I also have the lie angle adjusted to the “D” Setting which provides a more upright angle to further reduce the fade. In addition I put a 20 gram weight in the heel.
My drives are pretty damn straight now and occasionally hit a draw. Seldom if ever am I in the right side rough (or trees). The head is paired with a Maltby Pro Series UL shaft with a generous about of torque which further brings the club face back to square.
I’m sure there’s other idea’s out there, just thought I would share my journey.
