Hi there..  currently playing Mizuno 919 HM Pro irons with Recoil 95 graphite shafts in R flex…  like the feel and the weight, but as I’ve passed 50 years old, I can tell my swing speed is not what it used to be, and have always struggled with trajectory as I deloft the club at impact a bit.  I’d say my current 7i carry distance averages about 145-150.  Driver SS is around 94.. so don’t feel like I need to move down to A flex yet in the irons, as I don’t want to impact dispersion.

I understand perhaps going lighter might help with trajectory and speed, but start to wonder how light is too light?  Some of the newer graphite options are getting down to 45g now!  95g feels like a decent weight for me.. prefer something in the D1 range for swing weight..

Would going lighter than 95g shafts make a more meaningful difference in speed and trajectory than going down to an A flex?  If so, any good recommendations?
