with the advent of stronger lofted irons over the past several years (my Supersteel’s had jacked lofts in 2000), is ball trajectory still essentially the same due to lower vcog and rcog being further back from the face?
In essence, are we getting the best of both worlds, longer distance with similar trajectory?

Before I got so old (83) , and could still hit the ball–I shot a 67 when was 66, They (whoever they or them is) started de-lofting irons. I still hit a lot of old standards from the 60’s and 70’s. The 66 I shot was with a set of Mizumo’s (T-Zoid) 1 thru PW.
IMO–the old 5 iron is now a 6 iron and the old 2 iron is now a 3 iron. They are just playing with your mind, and, the steel was better in those days (IMO).
