This question is for Britt Lindsey. I had earlier asked a question about counter balancing a club to reduce the swing weight and you answered that in your experience that it had not made any noticeable change. I appreciated your honesty, so I am asking you in your personal experience, have you had your clubs pured and was there any improvement in dispersion, distance, etc.? Also, if I order a shaft for my driver and have it pured, will there be markings on the shaft so that I can put the head on in the proper position?

The counter balancing question probably needs expanding on, but for me, small amounts to move a few swing weight numbers, did not make a noticeable change. Totally depends on the player and the feel they are after.

As far as Pureing, I have played with all my clubs having Pured shafts. Full disclosure only my driver and #3wood currently are, only because when I built my new TS4 irons this year I didn’t want to take the time to have them done. I do believe it eliminates inconsistencies that are inherent in all shafts today. No shaft is perfectly round or straight and finding it’s principle plane of operation, or that position where it will perform as if it is perfectly straight and round, does produce more consistency. Ultimately when we build clubs we want to eliminate all the inconsistencies that might occur and Pureing is a way to eliminate inconsistencies in how the shaft loads and unloads.

When you order a shaft Pured, it does come with a mark, line, on it down towards the tip end indicating the mark that should be installed in the 12 o’clock position at address.
