I am currently playing the discontinued KE4 TC U21* with Kuro Kage shaft and love it! Great for tee shots on short par 4s as well as fairways. Thinking of getting a hybrid to replace my 5 iron for more height. It looks like the KE4 TC Pro IST is more similar to the TC U than the Tour TC is. Which should play more closely to the U? Also, should the MPF Pro shaft play similarly to the Kuro Kage? I have played exclusively Maltby products for over ten years and have never been disappointed. I just made a new set of the STi2 second generation irons with MPF Pro shafts and love them too! Great work as always.

I have the Pro IST Tour 4 hybrid with a stiff Rapport Core Blue shaft and love it. I also have trouble some times getting the ball flight higher and will say the 4 does a good job. Good luck.

The KE4 TC Pro IST hybrids are closer to the HYWAY utilities. Not quite the same shape, but somewhere in between the TC’s and the HYWAY. The new Pro Series+ hybrid shafts will play slightly softer than the Kuro Kage Hybrids. Not a great deal, but some. we re-engineered the Pro Series+ to be truer to flex than the previous generation, which were stiffer for each flex. I really like the the new ones. Kuro Kage is still a great shaft as well.

Britt – I am currently playing the old version of the pro series shafts in stiff flex. I like the control of these in my DBM irons. For a KE4 TC Pro IST hybrid kit with a pro series + shaft, would X be comparable to the old S flex?
