I am experimenting with different shafts in a TS3 five iron head.
Currently I have a Fujikura Vista Pro 60i R flex shaft in the 5 iron. I hit it OK.
It was suggested to try the Maltby MPF Pro Series iron shafts
I am 3B2M using the MPF ratings.
The MPF Pro SERIES IRONS, R flex is a 3B3M.
Is there going to be a noticable difference going to this shaft?
After looking at the profiles, I would say the MPF Pro Series+ shafts could actually feel a little more stable and I believe the trajectory should be a mid to mid/high depending on the player. The Vista Pro is actually listed as High trajectory even though we have it in the MPF as more of a medium. I think in the 60R flex it should lean more towards the mid/high to high. The MPF Pro Series+ is a little firmer in the butt section than the Vista Pro and they are very similar in the mid and tip section.
Not sure if there would be a noticeable difference. For some players it might be and others maybe not. Kind of depends on how refined hour sense of feel is and how well you strike it. I think it’s worth a try especially if you’re only OK with the Vista Pro.
