Kuro Kage has been discontinued by Mitsubishi. They no longer make it. We worked with them to transition to the new options which included the Tensei AV Series silver irons and hybrids (to replace the Kuro Kage), and the Tensie AV Series woods and Kai’li Series woods (to replace the Diamana S+, D+, Tensie CK Blue, Kuro Kage Black HBP and Kuro Kage Silver woods). All of those previous generation shafts were discontinued by Mitsubishi.
When I look at the shaft profiles, the Kuro Kage Hy is a little firmer in the butt section and mid section, but softer in the tip than the Tensei AV Series Silver Hy and Pro Series + Hy. The Tensie and the Pro Series are almost identical in profiles. If you were playing stiff in the Kuro Kage I’m not sure why you would want to go to the Regular in the Tensei or the Pro Series +. The regular would be more flexible in both of those than the stiff in the Kuro Kage.
I like both the re-designed Pro Series+ we did and currently sell and the new Tensei AV Silver Series in the irons and the hybrids. Kuro Kage was a great shaft for a long time. I think these two are just as good, just have a slightly different profile that should play and feel as good or better if they ae the right fit based on the players needs. I think, based on the profile and specifications we compare, the Tensie and Pro Series+ should yield the same stability, but possible have a little better feel.
Hope this helps.
