Hi, I am getting back into golf after a hiatus and looking to upgrade my old clubs. After research I have determined that I will buy a full set of Maltby clubs (or close to it, not sure if I need a new putter).

I want to get fit to make sure that I don’t waste money getting clubs that aren’t right for me. I have some questions about the process and I appreciate anyone that can help.

  1. I know that the recommendation is to get fit somewhere and then send the data to Maltby. What data should I ask the fitter to track? Is there a standardized PDF/form that I should ask for?
  2. Should I ask to hit with specific clubs that are similar to Maltbys during the fitting? I have seen that Maxflis are good for this but not sure what specific type.
  3. I know a fitting will determine what my clubs length, lie angle, etc. should be. Will a fitting help me determine:
    1. set makeup (e.g. how many wedges should I have, should I have irons, woods, or hybrids at the top end of the bag)
    2. wedge grinds
    3. grip size
    4. driver loft

Apologies for the list of questions! Thank you to anyone that can provide any help. I am in the Seattle area if anyone has any specific club fitter recommendations. Looking forward to playing with a set of Maltbys.
