In certain designs, the polymer allows us distribute the weight more to the perimeter, create a thinner face that can enhance ball speed, and dampen vibrations giving the club a more solid feel. Models like the TS3, however, with how we distributed the weight and the overall design really doesn’t need it to achieve the weight distribution part of it, and the feel and ball speeds are excellent and in line with what we wanted for that design. Feel comes from not only the material (TS1 is 1025C carbon steel and the TS1-IM has a 1025C carbon steel body and maraging steel face), but also how the weight is distributed in the design. In short, the polymer in models like the TS1-IM and TS1 allow us to improve the playability a little more in a traditional blade design by helping us distribute the weight more efficiently, improve ball speeds slightly due to the thinner face, and enhance the feel of the blade design.
