I bought a Mizuno 19* ST-Z 230 hybrid, stiff 40.5inch LINQ F4 75gram graphite shaft. If I find its too stiff what’s the best way to change it besides replacing the shaft?

First, not sure why your password dropped, but glad you got back in. Apologies for that inconvenience.
If the hybrid is too stiff, changing the shaft is probably going to be the best way to go, short of just getting another hybrid with a softer flex. If you add head weight, you can make the shaft a little more flexible (only about 1/10th of a flex per swing weight added).

An extension with no change to the head weight would simply make the club longer with a higher swingweight (because of the added length). It would feel heavier, and might feel more flexible, but it really would not be more flexible. It would be harder to hit. Longer clubs always are. If you don’t want to re-shaft, you might try just adding s little weight o the head to see if it makes a difference. Again, the flex won’t reduce that much, but it might make it feel better to you resulting in better contact, performance, etc. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

Ahh thanks I’ll try that, I do have another shaft but it’s longer so should I trim the Butt for minimum effect on flex? Appreciate your feedback as always, cheers Colin.
Thanks Britt, would a 1inch shaft extension help? I bought the STz because it was half price compared to buying in NZ even though it’s the wrong shaft for me driver wise, I had a Mizuno fitting and a Ping fitting and interesting I couldn’t miss with either brand toe heel dropped kicked but don’t have the cash to buy new. I did like the Mizuno feel better so looked on eBay…
