getting older and between reg and stiff, wondering if soft stepping is the answer or just go to a regular shaft?
Soft stepping does work, but you should probably do some testing to find out what works best. Soft stepping generally softens a shaft by 2 or 3 cycles, or a 1/4 to a 1/3 of a flex, depending on the shaft, head weights and bore depths, etc. There can be a lot of variation in R flexes, depending on the brand and model. You might be able to find an R flex that works great. Just have to do a little testing, I think, to know for sure.
