can someone please try to explain to me what I may experience as far as flight and forgiveness with my Ping G410 driver if I swap out the 14 gram backweight for a 4 gram. The club “feels” much better to me with the 4 gram installed. I am in a Ohio winter and probably wont be able to hit it for about 4 months and I am not crazy about simulators. thank you all in advance and Happy Holidays to all of you
Assuming it is positioned neutral, by reducing the amount of weight the cg will not be a far back, which could reduce the trajectory slightly. 10 grams reduction in head weight also will make the shaft play 5 cycles stiffer, or about 1/2 a flex, which can also bring down the trajectory a little. Really hard to know until you actually are able to get out and hit it.

You are correct. That would be educated guess as to what would happen. Of course you never know until you hit it.

thanks Britt, this is pretty much what I had hoped for as I am between reg and senior as far as driver shaft flex goes so I am going to use the lighter weight and install a C6 Red senior flex. If I understood your answer correctly the shaft will now play between senior and reg flex. Hopefully the slightly softer shaft will help keep the ball flight up a tich making up for the CG not being as far back……am I thinking correctly or am I off base???
