I currently play Tacki-Mac Tour Select Full Cord Midsize grips (.600 core, 1/16″ oversize, 55gr) with 1 wrap of Golfworks full size build up tape (GW1118) and their grip tape. I am considering a move to Lamkin UTX grips (.580 core). The standard is 52gr and the midsize is 62gr. Was hoping to not lose any swingweight so was looking at the standard.

How many wraps of the full size build up would it take to get to what I currently play in the Tacki-Mac’s? The core size is throwing me off since I would gain .020 with the Lamkin but  lose the .0625 with them being standard size? I’m all confused.

I’m also open to recommendations for grips like these listed, Lamkin Cross line cords, Golf Pride Tour Velvet cord, etc. That may work better.

Thanks!

I may have figured this math out…

Dynamic Gold 120’s have a .600 butt. Of course you trim that buuuut…

Tacki-Mac: .600 shaft + .015 build up tape + 0.0625 OS grip = 0.6775 ?

Lamkin: .600 shaft + 0.020 for smaller core + (0.015 build up tape * 4 wraps for .080) = .680?

I have never tried added that much build up tape. Would that split the grip? If not, a 0.0025 difference won’t mean a lick. Probably way within manufacturing tolerances.

Thoughts?
