I am reboring my Cleveland CBX launcher irons to 370 from 355 . The hosel on these irons seem to be quite deep , they have removed weight from the hosel and redistributed it . So how far into the head do I install the new shafts ?
Generally we want to see an iron bore depth of at least 1.25-1.5 inches. Most will fall in that range. If your re-boring, I would say you want at least the minimum 1.25 but if possible you want to re-bore the complete depth of the hosel. There is always risk when re-boring. I do not have that model to look at, so I can’t see how much or if the hosel tapers, meaning the walls could be thinner the deeper you go. So just be aware that the walls of the hosel might not be consistent the entire depth.
