Hi Britt, am I right in thinking that I can increase flex in shaft of an iron by adding lead tape to the iron head?
Would that increase the swing weight too much to be playable?
Adding two grams of lead tape to the head would increase the swing weight by 1, and reduce the sahft flex by approx. 1/10th of a flex. Add 10 grams to the head, increase the swing weight by 5 points, decrease the flex approximately 1/2 flex. Basically 1 swing weight equals 1 cycle of frequency, so if we assume 10 cycles is a full flex, then 1 swing weight is 1/10th of a flex.
