Has Maltby ever made an 8802 style putter? If not, would they ever plan to?

Not in the 20 years I have been here at The Golfworks. I have seen a lot of different versions over the years, for sure. Some better than others. A classic for sure, but just not sure what the demand is. Obviously with the current PGA Champion using a similar style it might generate some interest, but again, not sure how many would sell. Possibly a “retro” version with some updated technology while maintaining the shape might appeal to some. That being said, development costs being what they are, might be a hard sell. Thanks for the suggestion and will discuss with the team.

Thanks for quick response. I’d do straight up retro 1025 forged or becu with some special ‘ping’ slot maybe. DBM finish on the steel with milled face or an insert (aluminum or PU) would be interesting as well. Be cool to see this style from Maltby with some simple tweaks to make it special, especially if its something that has never been done on an 8802. Alignment features don’t seem to be common on this style. No stick on badges please.
Who knows, Maybe this style will make a comeback especially after Mickelson won etc… I enjoy my Moment X but I also play an old T-line X heel putter that’s 8802ish sometimes. Would definitely game a Maltby version. I am a mechanical engineer who loves to test and tinker (hint hint…lol) Thanks take care.
