I don’t believe there are any here in AZ. Depending on where you live, you can just do what I did (disclaimer: this is not 100% but good enough to get you into the ballpark). If there is a PGA Tour Superstore in your area, you can go for a “mock” fitting. You’ll just need to do some research on the Maltby’s that you’re interested in.. i.e. loft, lie, etc. Take those specs and find a big name with similar #’s, materials, etc. For example, I was really interested in the DBM’s. I found that the Mizuno MP-18 SC was a dead match. Now I was fortunate to have a good relationship with PGATSS as a regular so they pretty much just gave me free rein of the fitting equipment. That said, I don’t believe they’ll charge you anything to line up a 6 or 7 iron to help spec out the rest of your set. From there, you can work through your optimal shaft and lie options. They have bolt-on shafts that can change the lie and are available at various lengths +/- 1″ I believe. Ultimately I figured out that at least my 6 iron was +.25* upright at stock length. I had the best results and feel with the Nippon N.S. Pro 950 GH shaft, S flex. I had my DBM’s built to those specs and have never enjoyed playing golf as much I am now. Additionally, you can still take your newly built Maltby’s back to the PGATSS and have them further fine-tune the lies. I believe they charge $5/club. They’ll have you hit each club on a lie board to check for any heel or toe dig and then adjust accordingly to match your swing for each club. I haven’t taken that step as I feel my clubs are just as I need them to be. Hopefully that was somewhat helpful. Don’t miss out on some of the best clubs you’ll ever swing just because you can’t find a direct fitter.
