I’m pretty new to building up clubs, but have done it previously with .370 shafts in the TS-3s. However, the club I’m building up for a buddy (to show him how easy it can be) is a .355 shaft – I know this will fit the TS1-IM we’re ordering for him to demo, but my question is whether or not I need to add anything (glass beads, maybe) when epoxying the head to the shaft. I haven’t found anything about this anywhere, and I may be overthinking this entirely (as I’m wont to do), but figured I’d take advantage of the collective knowledge here and find out.
Also! When ordering the shaft for the 6-iron I’m building, I see that Golfworks’ website says “39” for the 6 iron. If I get it tip/butt prepped, will it come at a different length, or do I just assemble that way and then cut to 37.5″ after building?
Thanks!
If this head has a universal hosel the .355 shaft will fit. You should buy the ferrules recommended for that head. If you have beads then use them. If you don’t have them that’s not that big of a deal.
A .355 shaft is taper tip. Don’t trim the tip. Glue it up then butt trim to length.
