Does the Mizuno ST190 3 wood (without an adapter) have a (centering?) plug in the hosel? How do I get the broken shaft out?

Not sure what you are referring to on the “centering plug” part of the question. Sometimes when you remove a shaft that had a tip weight the weight can be stuck in the hosel. That could be mistaken for a plug I suppose, but if the shaft is still in the hosel you would not know if that could be it. If you have not removed graphite from a metal wood before, you would need to get some equipment (we carry everything you would need), get some instruction on how to perform the shaft removal, or seek out a qualified golf club repair person. We have some older videos on our You Tube channel you can access at the bottom of our web page that shows removing graphite shafts using some of our tools. If the shaft is broken at the hosel the procedure is different than if it is broken in another part of the shaft. Again, if you are new to this, you might want to seek out someone that knows how to do it. You could also just send the club to us and we can do the repair.

Whoever assembled it could have installed with a brass or copper tip weight for swing weight purposes. You could try heating slightly and may be able to pull out with some needle nose pliers. Or, you could just drill it out. Brass or copper is soft so it should be easy to drill out.

I have drilled broken shifts out before, just not with the weight in there. Fortunately, my machinist background (35+years) allows me to tackle tasks like this with confidence. Britt, thank you for your input. It was much appreciated.

Britt, thanks for the quick response. I cleaned up the area in the hosel and can see it much clearer now. It does appear to be a small copper piece imbedded in the epoxy inside the shaft tip. I’m guessing it may be a weight that was inserted at assembly. This club came with the Fujikura blue Atmos 6S shaft. Were any of those weighted tip? I’m thinking I may have to drill this one out.
