As far as I can tell, MPF is calculated based on Mass properties of a club head. How does it account for non-mass features like Taylormade’s “inverted cone,” if at all?
MPF is based on the mass and dimensional properties of the club head. Inverted cone technology, or any technology on the face of the driver is generally designed to maximize the CT (COR) performance up to what the USGA allows by the rules. it is part of the mass and in as much as it effects how the mass is distributed, it is part of the club head and therefore part of the equation. The dynamic aspect of how much it deflects or enhances ball speed has no bearing on the MPF.
