Hi, a quick question I just don’t find explained. How does the MPF relate to the clubhead size? For example, TM P770 and Srixon Z585 has similar MPF score, even though the P770 is significantly smaller clubhead. Does this mean for example a toe strike on P770 is more forgiwing, or does this mean a toe strike is equally bad on both clubs, but Z585 has larger area to work with in the middle, just because it’s physically larger?
Thanks!
Ok thanks, I asked this because I actually own both the P770 and Z585, fitted for me, and I have found the Srixon much easier to hit. This is also backed up by data from various sessions in a simulator, which actually minimizes the sole effect too (compared to turf). I don’t really know what you mean by them not having a noticeable difference, but in terms of physical presence the P770 is way smaller, probably around 7-10mm in blade length and the sole is from another planet. Here’s a picture I just took https://imgur.com/a/fJ10Xtr
But anyhow, it’s probably just some personal thing making the Srixon fit better for me. My assumption was that there would be a factor something like blade length * mpf that would estimate a “sweetspot size”, but apparently not.
Thanks again!
