We don’t list any hybrid specific steel shafts in the catalog currently, but we do still have the KBS Steel Hybrid online. the link to the product page is below. Steel hybrid shafts, or even graphite hybrid shafts, are basically just iron shafts. Some may have a slightly longer raw length, say 42″ vs it’s iron counterpart at 40″ or 41″, but they are basically the same type of shaft. You can use any iron shaft that has a compatible tip diameter to most hybrids, it the raw shaft length is long enough to support it. The key is to know how to trim it, and that is based on the head weight of the hybrid. For instance, if you have a #4 hybrid (.370″ hosel ID) that has a head weight of 240 grams and you want to use a Project X .370″ shaft in it, you would trim the shaft tip for a #3 iron (since the average standard head weight for a #3 iron head is also 240 grams). the only thing you would have to consider is if the 41″ starting length will give you enough length to get to your playing length after tip trimming 1″, then installing. it should unless you are making really long hybrids. That’s all you have to know if you want to install an iron shaft into a hybrid head. KBS is the only brand still selling a steel shaft they are designating as a Hybrid shaft. I don’t have the specs of the old Precision 95 you referenced, so I can’t suggest anything that would match up to it. However, there are plenty of lightweight steel shafts in a .370″ tip diameter that could work in a hybrid.
Hope this helps.
