Is it possible to lower static weight while maintaining swing weight?
You can lower overall weight without reducing swing weight. The easiest way to do it is with a lighter shaft. A combination of a lighter shaft and a lighter grip could achieve it. A lighter shaft with a lower balance point could also do it. An example might be this: If you had a Dynamic Gold X flex iron shaft (high balance point shaft) that weighed 130 grams and you reshafted with an AeroTech 110 gram graphite shaft (lower balance point), you would reduce the overall weight of the club by 20 grams and the swing weight would probably not move much, if at all. So, yes, it can be done.
