I’m planning to build a Maltby KE4 TC driver at 44-1/2”. Expect I will need to add 3-4 grams weight to keep SW in line with D2. Is there any difference in driver head performance (trajectory) if I add the weight in shaft tip weight versus driver head weight?

Not really with only 3-4 grams needed. You could just use the weights and it would not make a difference in performance. Either way you should not notice any performance difference.
